Varsity Track and Field Regional @ Bishop Miege 3:30p

AP US History – Students enrolled in AP US History for the 2013-14 school year need to pick up their summer reading in room 173 before they leave for the summer.  Questions?  See Mr. Hirons.
 
Freshmen - All freshmen who are planning to take English 10 Honors next year need to meet in Rm. 270 with Mr. Baranowski immediately after school on Friday 5/17 for a very brief meeting.  There will be a basic overview of the class and you can pick up an honors contract if you have not already.
 
Baseball - Reminder that equipment check-in is today at 3:00, we will meet in Room 000.  Questions see Coach Wiles.
 
Evening of Jazz - Is this Saturday in the cafeteria from 7:30 to 10:30.  Come hear one of the best jazz bands we've had in years!  If you have never been, this is a fun night of music, dancing, goodies to eat, and a silent auction.  All proceeds go to support the marching band.  Tickets are 5.00 in advance from any jazz band member or 7:00 at the door.
 
Pizza Line – Today is the last day that the pizza line will be open.
 
JV Cheerleaders -Your poms are in, please pick them up sometime today from Mrs. Turner.
 
Track & Field – If you have not turned in your uniform, a hold slip is being turned in.  Please get uniforms turned into Coach Wannamaker or Coach Nackley ASAP!!!!!!
 
English 12 AP – If you are enrolled in the English 12AP class for next year, you need to attend a meeting for your summer reading at 2:50 on Monday, 5/20 in room 279.  Please see Mrs. Cobb with questions.

Robotics  - Will have a meeting from 2:50 to 4:00 in room 264 (YES, ROOM 264!) today to plan for summer activities (Maker Faire June 29th and 30th), preparing the robot for the Missouri State Fair, etc. 
 
Pizza Line – Friday, May 17 is the final day of the year that the pizza line will be open.
 
English 11 AP – If you are taking English 11 AP, you need to attend a summer reading meeting today at 2:50 in room 272.
 
Euro History AP – Students enrolled in European History for 2013-14 school year should drop by room 177 to pick up summer reading/assignment.
 
Students – If you have lost anything, please be sure to check the lost and found, both in the office and the custodial area, before the end of the school year. 
 
Thespian Meeting – Make sure to come to the Thespian meeting today after school in the auditorium!  We’ll be voting for new officers and updating point sheets.  Newcomers are also welcome.  Hope to see you there!

Girls Soccer – Girls soccer defeated Topeka West 9-0.  Megan Stollsteimer, Taylor Christie, and Amanda Schwabauer each scored two goals.  Rachele Reynolds, Erin Bunker, and Blaire Collins also contributed goals.  Ellie Bartlett had the shutout.  The girls play Aquinas on Friday at 6:30 at Aquinas.  Please support the team. 
 
Robotics  - Will have a meeting from 2:50 to 4:00 in room 264 (YES, ROOM 264!) on Thursday to plan for summer activities (Maker Faire June 29th and 30th), preparing the robot for the Missouri State Fair, etc. 
 
Track & Field – Time to turn in those uniforms!  If your season is done and you still have your uniform and/ or lock bring it to Coach Wannamaker (Room 369) or Coach Nackley (Room 178) before the end of the week.  Hold slips will be turned in for any missing uniforms or locks Friday morning.  If you missed the banquet, please stop by Coach Wannamaker’s room to pick up your award packet.

Athletics - $20 physicals are being offered today from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the SMS training room.

Cross Country – A short informational meeting about the 2013 SMS Cross Country team will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 2:50 in the Orchestra room.  If you plan to be on the team, come to the meeting.  If you are not able to attend the meeting, but need information about the team, see Coach Wannamaker (room 369) or Coach Wiebe (Orchestra room) next week.
 
Girls Swim – All girl swimmers and divers who are not competing in the state meet, please clean and turn your equipment in to Coach Bove, room 367 before Thursday or a hold slip will be turned in.

Boys Varsity Golf Regional @ Heritage Golf Course (BVSW) 8:00a

Boys Tennis – Congratulations to the members of the boys tennis team who took second as a team at the state tournament on Saturday.  The Raiders were led by senior Kevin Kochersperger, who won the state championship in singles.  Ben Bernard and Griffin Zeller nearly beat the eventual state doubles champions and earned 8th place overall.  Way to go guys!
 
Athletics - $20 physicals are being offered on Wednesday, May 15th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the SMS training room.
 
Scholarships - The senior scholarship list is post on the South webpage .  Click on Student Information or News & Events.
 
Human Geography AP - There is a meeting after school today @ 2:50 in rm. 178.
 
Yearbook - If you did not pick up your yearbook Friday, please come to Room 195 to receive the 2013 Heritage.
 
Track and Field – If your season is complete or you are no longer on the team, uniforms need to be turned in.  Uniform check in for track & field will be Tuesday, 5/14 after school at the track and field closet.  Bring your uniforms and locks or a hold slip will be turned in for you.

2013 SHAWNEE MISSION SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION CEREMONIES Graduation ceremonies will be recorded and edited again this year for delayed broadcast over Time Warner Cable Channel 2, AT&T U-Verse Govt. Educ. & Public Access channel 99 (select Overland Park and then select Shawnee Mission School District), and SureWest channel 18. Musical selections performed during the graduation ceremony will not be included. Unedited versions of the ceremonies may be shown prior to the below air dates. SM South Heritage Singers are finalists in local competition
You can help the Shawnee Mission South Heritage Singers who were recently named finalists in a local choir competition. The winner of this radio competition, selected after several rounds, will receive $5,000 for the choir program.
