Steve Little

Football - Class of 1974

"Steve Little is one of the greatest athletes in the history of Shawnee Mission South . He was the only player in Sunflower League history to be All-League in four positions – quarterback, defensive back, punter, and place kicker. In his senior year, Steve led the Raiders to an undefeated season that culminated in winning the State Championship 28-0 over Shawnee Mission West. He was the consensus All-State quarterback for the 1973 season. He had the unique combination of tremendous athletic ability, intelligence, leadership, and fortitude to be as an accomplished high school athlete as he was. Steve will forever be remembered as one of the greatest Raiders of all, the heart and soul of one of the most dominant football teams in Kansas state history. Therefore, it is very fitting that he is inducted in the Raider Hall of Fame Inaugural Class."
